How do I open a QuataPay account?
Download the QuataPay app or visit our website. Tap **Open account**, enter your email and phone number, verify the OTP we send you, and complete the registration form. Your starter account is ready in under two minutes — no documents needed for the basic tier.
What documents do I need for KYC verification?
- **Basic tier** — phone OTP. No documents. - **Standard tier** — National ID or passport + selfie verification. - **Premium tier** — ID + proof of address + proof of income. KYC is completed in the app under **Settings → Verification**.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
Tap **Forgot password** on the sign-in screen. We email you a single-use link that expires in 30 minutes. Click it to set a new password — at least 8 characters, mixing letters and numbers.
How do I change my phone number?
Settings → Account → Phone number. We send an OTP to the new number; once you confirm it, the new number replaces the old one. The change is logged in your login history.
Can I delete my QuataPay account?
Yes — Settings → Account → Delete account. We schedule the deletion for 30 days out, during which you can cancel from any device. After the grace window, all personal data is removed and the account can't be recovered. Funds must be withdrawn first.
Is there a fee for sending money between QuataPay users?
**No.** Wallet-to-wallet transfers between QuataPay users are always free, regardless of amount or tier. Fees only apply when money moves between QuataPay and mobile money networks (MTN, Orange), banks, or cross-border.
How does QR code payment work?
The recipient displays their QR code in the app. The sender scans it with the QuataPay scanner and confirms the amount. Money moves instantly, with no fee between QuataPay users. Both parties get a notification with the transaction id.
What's the maximum I can send in one transfer?
Limits depend on your KYC tier: - **Basic** — 100,000 XAF per transaction, 500,000 XAF per day. - **Standard** — 500,000 XAF per transaction, 2,500,000 XAF per day. - **Premium** — 5,000,000 XAF per transaction, 25,000,000 XAF per day.
What if I send money to the wrong person?
If the recipient hasn't cashed out yet, you can reverse the transfer from your transaction history in one tap. Once it's been cashed out, contact our support team — we'll mediate but can't guarantee recovery once the money has left the wallet.
Is my money safe on QuataPay?
Yes. Customer funds are held in a regulated partner-bank account under the CEMAC framework. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. You set a 4-digit PIN for an extra layer of transaction security, and you can enable 2FA for sign-in.
What should I do if I lose my phone?
Log in at quatapay.com from any browser, go to **Settings → Security → Devices**, and revoke the lost device. This invalidates every active session on that device immediately. Change your password while you're there as a precaution.
How do I enable two-factor authentication?
Settings → Security → Two-factor → **Enable**. We show you a QR code to scan with Google Authenticator (or any TOTP app). After you confirm with a one-time code, every sign-in from a new device asks for the 6-digit code.
Will QuataPay ever ask for my password or PIN?
**Never.** Our staff never ask for your password, PIN, OTP, or card details — over the phone, by SMS, by email, or by chat. If anyone claims to be from QuataPay and asks, end the call and report it via /contact.
How can my business accept payments via QuataPay?
Register as a merchant at /merchant/register. Once approved (we review within 24 hours of clean KYC), you can accept payments by QR at the counter, payment links shared in WhatsApp / SMS / email, or via our REST API for custom checkout.
What is the merchant settlement fee?
Settlements are charged at **1.5% per payout** — flat. There are no monthly fees, no setup fees, no minimum volume, and refunds are free (we refund our share of the fee too).
How often do I get settled?
Daily, weekly, or monthly — your choice. Settlements go to MTN MoMo, Orange Money, or a bank account. Set the preference once at /merchant/settlements and it runs automatically.
Can I issue refunds?
Yes, partial or full, from the merchant panel or via API. We push the money back through the same rail it came in on. Our share of the fee is refunded too.
How do I become a QuataPay agent?
Apply from your QuataPay app — Settings → **Become an agent**. We ask whether you're applying as an individual, a business, or an institution, and what part of Cameroon you'll operate in. Approval takes 1–3 business days.
How much do agents earn?
**50% of every platform fee** the customer pays. A busy agent doing cash-in / cash-out / bill pay / mobile top-up at typical market-day volumes earns around 20,000–55,000 XAF per day in commission. Your earnings show up daily in the agent dashboard.
Do I need to keep a minimum float?
Yes — 50,000 XAF starter float to stay activated. Top agents carry 500k+ to handle busy market days. Float is your working capital and is paid back to your MoMo / bank if you close the agency.
Which bills can I pay through QuataPay?
Electricity (ENEO), water (CDE), internet providers, TV subscriptions, school fees, and more. The full biller list is available in the app under **Bill Pay**, and admins keep adding billers as we sign them on.
How do I top up airtime?
Mobile top-up → choose carrier (MTN / Orange / Camtel) → type the number → choose amount → confirm. Frequent numbers are saved for one-tap refills next time.
Can I pay bills for someone else?
Yes — bill payments don't have to be your own. Enter the meter / account number you want to pay and the relevant amount. The biller credits the account; you keep the receipt.
Can I get a card from QuataPay?
Yes — both virtual and physical cards. Virtual cards issue in seconds for online shopping, with controls for spending limits, freeze/unfreeze, and rotation. Physical cards take 5–10 business days and work at any tap-to-pay terminal in CEMAC.
Does QuataPay support cross-border transfers?
We're rolling out remittance corridors progressively. The corridor list lives at /user/remittance. FX rates are transparent — we show you the rate before you confirm and there are no hidden margins.
